macOS Mojave 10.14 Features
As told above macOS Mojave 10.14 comes with lots of new features. In particular, Apple has worked lots on enhancing Quick Look and Finder. Both new features are amazing. Now know the other important features of new macOS Mojave 10.14.
The Dark Mode has nothing new. Know that it has been available since EI Capitan. This time company only changed the appearance of Dock and menu bar. But know that the newer Dark Mode is what everyone is looking for.
In High Sierra, Dark Mode simply adjusts the color of the dock and menu bar but it was almost unnoticeable. The Dock’s semi-transparent background turn darker, moreover menu bar’s drop-down menus are also darker.
Now here the dilemma is not all the 3rd party apps support the Dark Menu. You will even miss it from Apple’s apps like Safari.
The new Dark Mode in macOS Mojave 10.14 will be applied to all elements in every app, system-wide. Now no matter on which screen or app you are, you will enjoy the Dark Mode seamlessly.
While showcasing the new system-wide Dark mode, Apple’s Craig Federighi explained that: “ the dark shade extends to the windows and the chrome.” He further added “Great not just for photography, but also if working in a dark environment.”
Apple introduced some new changes to the Desktop that are exclusive to macOS Mojave 10.14 obviously.
One of the great features in Mojave is Stacks. This feature keeps your desktop clutter-free.
In today’s world, there are two types of people. First one is those who keep everything on their desktop and their desktop are full of icons. They are so many that you can’t even figure out the wallpaper.
Now the second type of people is those who love to keep things organized. They build separate folder for everything.
If you are any of them then forget old things now as Stacks is here to organize all things for you. So what do Stacks do? Say there are 10 images, 5 videos, 15 pdfs on your desktop. Generally, you will leave them as it is or you may build a folder but when you are using macOS Mojave 10.14 you don’t have to do anything.
Stacks will simple clumped the files according to the file type. This is much more like sorting but it is more advance. Now if you want more from Desktop then Apple introduced one more pleasant feature that is Dynamic Desktop. It will automatically change the backdrop to your screen for instance for a morning screen for the morning, amazing, isn’t?
Finder, Quick Look & Markup
macOS Mojave 10.14 features new updated Finder that is macOS’s default file manager. Finder features a new view. In Gallery view, you can get a preview of an image along with details like metadata, tags, dimension, resolution and more.
Currently, you can see Finder items as a list, icons, columns, or as Cover Flow. If you think, that is enough than know that Finder will give you something even more than just a preview of the document, picture of any other file. Apple has improvised the Markup tools that are currently available in preview and added then to QuickLook.
This will simply let you preview a PDF, now using the Markup tools you can simply add signature without opening the preview app.
Similarly, you will get lots of tools to play while looking at images. During WWDC keynote Apple shows these quick actions for instance cropping or rotating an image directly from Finder.
macOS Mojave 10.14 completely transforms how you are taking screenshots. It will let you capture any kind of screenshots with options like Capture Screen, Capture Window, Capture Selection, Record Screen, and Record Selection.
When a screenshot is successfully captured its thumbnail will animate to the right bottom corner of the screen. It is clutter free, convenient, and easy.
